SAN DIEGO - The eastern end of the baggage claim area of Terminal 2 at Lindbergh Field was briefly evacuated Wednesday evening while firefighters investigated reports of smoke coming from a vent inside the terminal.
The incident was reported just after 9:30 p.m.
The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department headed to the roof to inspect the air conditioning unit. A portion of the terminal was evacuated while firefighters conducted their investigation.
Just after 10 p.m., people were allowed back into the terminal.
Firefighters say it was caused by an electrical malfunction with the heating and air conditioning motor.
