SAN DIEGO - A man sneaked into a Pacific Beach woman's home on Tuesday and fondled her as she lay in bed, fleeing when she awoke and screamed, authorities reported.
The victim was sleeping when the intruder entered her residence near Felspar and Bayard streets and began touching her about 1 a.m., according to San Diego police.
It is the same spot where police say another sexual assault took place last month. Police say just after 2 a.m. on June 20, a man broke into a vacation rental. The intruder went into a bedroom and began touching a woman as she slept. Once the woman woke up and screamed, the man ran out.
A week after that, just a few blocks away at the end of a cul-de-sac on Missouri Street, police say a woman woke up to find a strange man standing inside her home. Also in that incident, police say she screamed and the man ran away.
The victim in Tuesday's incident described the intruder as a white man who appeared to be in his mid-40s with a mustache and goatee. He was wearing red, white and blue shorts, a red or blue shirt and a baseball cap.
Anyone with any information is asked to call San Diego police.
