Otay Mesa bank robber wanted

SAN DIEGO - The FBI today released photos of a bank robber wearing aviator sunglasses with a mole above his lip and wearing a baseball cap with the letters"DTAK" accused of holding up a U.S. Bank branch inside a Vons supermarket.

The robbery occurred at 620 Dennery Road at 6:16 p.m. Friday, according to the FBI.

He told the teller he was there to make a withdrawal, then passed a demand note demanding specific denominations. He placed his left hand on his left hip, simulating that he had something on his hip. The robber then put the money in a white envelope and walked away.

He was wearing a baseball cap with the image of the California state flag and a bear on the crown of the baseball cap. The inside bill of the cap had writing that appeared to have the letters "DTAK" on the inside, said FBI Special Agent Darrell Foxworth.

He was described as being white or Latino, 5-foot-6, about 140 pounds and about 30 years old.

He had a mole above his lip on the left side of his face. He was wearing a burgundy hooded sweat jacket, gray collared shirt and dark pants.

Anyone with information about the robbery was asked to call the FBI at 858-320-1800, or San Diego Crime Stoppers at 888-540-8477.
