SALEM, Ore. - There ought to be a law against slow driving in the passing lane. At least that's how Oregon state Senator Ginny Burdick feels.

She's introduced a bill that would make it illegal to drive in the left lane of an interstate unless passing.

"If you're not passing, stay out of the left lane," she said. "It's really not that hard."

The bill would carry fines of up to $1,000. But Burdick says her goal is to educate drivers, not punish them.
