SAN DIEGO - A bizarre online post from the lead singer of a San Diego-based heavy metal band accused of hiring a hit man to kill his wife has been taken down.
The statement was posted on the Tumblr page for Tim Lambesis, the frontman for the band As I Lay Dying. He is out on $2 million bond.
A post on the singer's Tumblr page read, "I'm out on bail, but on house arrest ... I have the unique opportunity of being able to focus on study like I may never have again in life after this. While I can't say that I always enjoy it, it is more valuable than I originally acknowledged."
The post mentions the word "study" several times, leaving readers familiar with the rocker and his biblical tattoos and religious inspiration assuming he means Bible study.
The post continued: "After my incarceration I found myself re-evaluating topics that I had previously sworn I would never waste my time looking at again."
The post later attributes this new inspiration to either divine intervention or boredom.
10News has stopped by Lambesis' parents' home in Del Mar several times, where he is believed to be on that house arrest.
Before the post was taken down from the Tumblr page, it ended with, "Someday I will be able to tell the story of all that has happened in detail, to get the facts straight, and representing the many sides to this fairly complex story."
Lambesis is scheduled to be back in court in September.
