One pilot killed, another injured after Air Force jet crashes in Texas

One pilot is dead and another was injured after a T-38 Talon crashed Monday afternoon in Texas, according to the Military Times.

The crash happened about 14 miles northwest of Laughlin Air Force Base.

Monday evening, Air Force officials said emergency personnel were on scene to assist in the recovery efforts.

The names of the pilots have not been released at this time.

The T-38 is a twin engine, high-altitude supersonic jet trainer primarily used in the Air Force by Air Education and Training Command for undergraduate pilot training, according to the Times.
