SPRING VALLEY - Three people are dead after a shooting in Spring Valley Friday.

San Diego County Sheriff's deputies received a report of a person being shot near Jamacha Lane just before 1:30 p.m.

Sheriff's homicide detectives said two people, a man and woman, were found shot to death in an upstairs apartment unit on the 1100 block of Jamacha Lane.

“Six or seven shots, whoa. A few seconds later you heard another magazine being discharged," said Ernest Johnson, a man who lives in the area." When I said magazine I mean the whole six, pop, pop, pop, pop. I said, whoa!”

A third person, a 50-year-old man, was found shot but alive just inside the home. Deputies immediately tended to his injuries and transported him to Mercy Hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

Investigators think this may be a double murder-suicide and say guns  were seen inside the home. At this point, they have no indication there is a suspect on the loose, Lt. Kenneth Nelson said.

A judge signed a search warrant Friday night, investigators will be in the apartment well into Saturday morning collecting evidence.

Deputies are still searching for a motive.

The medical examiner will likely conduct autopsies on the victims Saturday, Nelson said. The Medical Examiner will also release the identities of the victims after family members are notified.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Homicide Detail at (858) 974-2321 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
