California correctional officers have apprehended an inmate who walked away from a minimum security prison in San Diego.
The Department of Corrections said Sunday that 23-year-old Juan Ledesma was arrested around 12:30 a.m. near the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility where he had been serving a sentence for drug possession.
Ledesma had walked off the prison grounds shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday.
Corrections officials searched the grounds and surrounding community, but did not immediately find him. They alerted local law enforcement agencies and continued searching until he was found. No further details were provided.
