Officer hurt while chasing suspect near Morley Field
Injured officer taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital

A San Diego police officer is in the hospital Wednesday after falling during a pursuit.
10News has learned that a Mid-City unit was trying to stop a possible burglary suspect at around 12:30 a.m.
But the suspect, who was on his bicycle, fled from police.
Officers followed the suspect to Morley Field, where he ditched the bike and ran down a canyon.
Police chased after him and one of them may have fallen down.
The officer was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest in the back of a patrol car to be treated for his injuries. 10News was told the injuries are minor and that the officer should recover. Fellow officers stopped by the hospital early Wednesday to check on him.
