Oceanside police searching for man accused of committing lewd acts in front of women

Police: Man's description matches in both cases

OCEANSIDE, Calif. - Oceanside police say they believe the same man may have exposed himself and performed lewd acts in front of two different women at two different apartment complexes.

The first reported incident happened at about 10:30 a.m. Monday in the 1300 block of Puls Street, according to police. Police say the man stood in a common area of the complex making eye contact with a woman through her apartment window as he fondled himself.

The man was seen leaving the area in a light-colored, older model 4-door sedan.

A half-hour later, police said a woman at the Camino Colony Apartments on El Camino Road reported a similar lewd act. In this case, the man was seen peering over her fence and looking toward the window of her apartment.

When the woman reached for her phone, she told police the man ran away. A witness saw him get into an older, tan-colored 4-door sedan believed to be a Toyota Camry.

"The fact that there are guys out there who do that is disgusting," said Camino Colony resident Adan Zavala, who told 10News he's concerned for the safety of his fiancee and other women living in the complex.

Zavala was also concerned that the apartment management company has not warned residents to be on the lookout for the man.

Zavala said he will be watching for the man, who is described as a light-skinned black man, age 20-25 with a thin build. He wore shorts and a T-shirt at the time of the incidents, according to police.
