Oceanside police say woman sexually assaulted in her home; culprit broke-in through a window

OCEANSIDE, Calif. - Police in Oceanside said they are searching for a man who broke into a woman's home Saturday and sexually assaulted her.

The Oceanside Police Department said the incident occurred at a home on the 1000 block of Alberta Avenue at around 4:45 a.m.

"The suspect broke into the home through an unlocked front door," said Oceanside Police Sgt. Ignacio Lopez. "Investigators said the man fled the home and was last seen walking westbound on Alberta Avenue."

The victim described her attacker as a white man in his 20s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 160 pounds. He is clean shaven with a pale complexion and has brown short hair.

He was last seen wearing a black shirt, khaki pants and black shoes.

Anyone with information was urged to call Oceanside police at 760-435-4580.
