Oceanside couple beaten, robbed in overnight home invasion

OCEANSIDE, Calif. - Oceanside police said a homeowner and his girlfriend were the victims of a home invasion robbery Monday night.

Police said the robbery occurred at around 11:45 p.m. at a home in the 700 block of Pallette Court.

According to officers, three men knocked on their door, and because the couple recognized them, they let them in. Officers said the couple was then pistol-whipped and stunned with a stun gun.

Police said the men took off with a laptop and a wallet.

The homeowner knew where two of the men were staying and led officers to a nearby Holiday Inn, where an Oceanside police SWAT team entered the hotel and took them into custody.

The two men arrested were identified as 22-year-old Stephen Irwin and 23-year-old Brandon Irwin.

Police are still looking for a third suspect.
