CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV)—One of Chula Vista’s newest police officers overcame some serious obstacles to wear the badge.
Christopher Lawrence was serving with the Marine Corps in Iraq when his life changed forever. An IED explosion cost him part of his leg, but not his fighting spirit. Lawrence earned a Purple Heart.
He will go through another six months of field training before he learns his role in the Chula Vista Police Department.
