SAN DIEGO - In a new 10News/U-T San Diego poll released Friday afternoon, fewer than 1 in 5 say San Diego Mayor Bob Filner will serve out his term.
Earlier Friday, Filner apologized for what he called a failure to respect women and for his "intimidating conduct."
The mayor announced that starting Aug. 5, he would undergo "two weeks of intensive therapy" at an unspecified clinic.
The former congressman has faced multiple allegations of sexual harassment, but has declined to step down as mayor despite many calls for his resignation.
One question in the exclusive scientific poll, posed to 509 San Diego adults, asked: "After Filner finishes therapy, what will happen? Will he end up resigning? Will he refuse to resign and be recalled? Or will he serve out his term?"
The poll showed 69% believe he will be recalled, 18% think he will serve out his term, 10% feel he will resign and 2% are unsure.
