SAN DIEGO – A driver was arrested on drunken driving charges after he reportedly tried to flee the scene of a crash in Logan Heights in the early morning hours Thursday.

At about 5 a.m. a man crashed a Honda Civic in to a guardrail in the area of South 30th Street and Newton Avenue. He was not seriously hurt.

Following the crash, the driver began acting erratically, witnesses told San Diego police, dancing and running around. Witnesses said when he tried to flee from the scene, neighbors held him down while they waited for officers to arrive.

The man was laughing while sitting in the back of a patrol car. He is expected to face charges of driving under the influence.
