SAN DIEGO - Two suspected burglars are under arrest Thursday thanks to a woman who alerted police about suspicious activity at a Mt. Hope home, police said.
The neighbor said she saw two men at the home across the street from hers on Toyne and J streets.
The woman told 10News she heard her dogs barking and when she went out to investigate, she saw the men loading items into a Dodge pickup truck. The men were at a vacant home that is currently being renovated.
The woman called authorities and police were able to quickly arrest one of the suspects. Officers found the second suspect hiding in a back yard.
Police said the suspects' truck was full of construction materials including doors, bags of cement mix and tiles.
The resident who alerted authorities told 10News the home was been vacant for awhile.
"The owners or the people fixing the house would bring stuff and leave it there, but today was something different," said the woman, who wanted to remain anonymous.
