Evacuations lifted after natural gas leak in Mira Mesa

SAN DIEGO - Residents have been allowed to return home after a natural gas leak in Mira Mesa forced evacuations.

The leak was reported at 6:18 p.m. Wednesday on Andasol Street near Birds View Court and forced the evacuations of 14 homes, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

San Diego Gas & Electric says the water department was doing work and severed a gas line.
