SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A late night visitor left a costly mark in Hillcrest and one couple is determined to track that driver down.

It happened on Eighth Avenue just past 1 a.m. on Sunday.

Mick Frasca showed us surveillance video of a car trying to turn around on the dead-end street by backing into his driveway.

"The car goes over the hump, into driveway and crunch. It hits the car," said Frasca.

The next day, Frasca found the dent and scratches on the 2016 Volkswagon GTI, the pride and joy of his boyfriend.

"It's that sick feeling in your stomach. The fact that somebody would do that and not take responsibility is just aggravating," said Frasca.

The repair bill could be in the thousands. Frasca hoping to force that responsibility by posting the video and finding the driver.

A neighbor's surveillance video shows a faint image of the driver and a clearer image of the car, believed to be a newer model Lexus IS.

Because of time of night, Frasca wonders if that driver had been drinking.

"Instead of hurting a car, next time they could hurt a person," said Frasca.
