Crash cleared from on north Interstate 5 at Hawthorn St

At least 4 to 5 lanes were blocked

SAN DIEGO - Lanes were cleared Monday after a report of a multi-car crash on northbound Interstate 5 near Hawthorn Street.

Initial reports indicated that the crash happened at 9:38 a.m. between a black mustang and a black SUV.

According to dispatch, the driver of the black mustang may have been racing with another vehicle when it hit the SUV.

At least four to five lanes were blocked. Emergency crews responded to the scene and the cars were towed away as of 11 a.m. Traffic continued to be slow towards the Hawthorn Street exit.
