NATIONAL CITY, Calif. - Two crashes on San Diego freeways affected morning commute Friday.

One involved a vehicle that flipped on its side on state Route 163 at the Interstate 8 connector.

Three people and a dog were able to get out the vehicle and one lane was shut down.

Meanwhile, lanes reopened Friday after a multi-car crash blocked all lanes on south Interstate 5 near Mile of Cars Way in National City. The crash prompted authorities to issue a Sig Alert at 7:42 a.m.

The incident was reported at 7:24 a.m. and involved at least two vehicles. Later reports indicate that four or five vehicles were involved. Lanes were reopened as of 8:26 a.m.
