SAN DIEGO - A suspected drunken driver and a motorcyclist collided in a North Park intersection early Friday, leaving the rider with serious injuries, a police sergeant said.
The 49-year-old rider was headed east on North Park Way at the intersection with Bancroft Street shortly after 1:30 a.m. when the suspected drunken driver pulled in front of him from northbound Bancroft Street, and the two crashed, according to San Diego police Sgt. L. Taylor.
The motorcyclist had the right of way, according to Taylor.
The motorcycle rider was taken to a hospital to be treated for a fractured femur and an injured hip, Taylor said.
The suspected drunken driver was uninjured, according to the sergeant. The driver was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence, Taylor said.
