OCEANSIDE, Calif. - A motorcyclist killed in a head-on crash in Oceanside was identified Sunday as a Camp Pendleton Marine.

Sgt. Ian Wiseman, 28, died in the crash on El Camino Real near Skyline Drive early Saturday morning.

According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office, Wiseman lost control of his motorcycle for unknown reasons and veered off the roadway.

He then crossed over a raised concrete median and entered the northbound traffic lanes before he collided with a silver Volkswagen Passat.

Wiseman was thrown from the motorcycle and came to rest down an embankment along Skyline Drive, the Medical Examiner's Office reported. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
