Motorcyclist killed in crash on Harbor Drive

SAN DIEGO - A motorcyclist died Monday afternoon after colliding with an SUV on Harbor Drive, San Diego police said.

The collision happened at about 12: 20 p.m. in the 2400 block of Harbor Drive, according to police.

The motorcyclist, identified as a man in his 20s, was traveling on the northbound side of Harbor Drive when he lost control and crossed onto the southbound lanes, where he was struck by an SUV.

Police said the SUV did not have time to avoid the collision.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No other injuries were immediately reported.

The street was closed in both directions and a Sig Alert was issued due to the emergency response.
