A motorcycle rider who ran a red light and crashed into a car near Tecolote Canyon Natural Park was hospitalized on Sunday with life-threatening head injuries.The collision in the 6800 block of Linda Vista Road occurred about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, San Diego police Officer David Stafford said.The motorcycle rider, a 54-year-old man whose name was withheld, was southbound on Linda Vista when he ran the red light at Tait Street and struck a Honda Civic that had been headed the opposite way and was turning west onto Tait Street, Stafford said.The rider, who suffered leg and ankle fractures as well as head injuries, was taken to a trauma center, he said.The Honda driver was uninjured, Stafford said.
