Motorcyclist dies after massive crash on I-15 near Ted Williams Parkway: Wreck involved 5 cars

POWAY, Calif. -
An investigation was under way Friday into a six-vehicle pile-up that killed a motorcyclist on the Poway stretch of Interstate 15.
The fatality on northbound Interstate 15 at Ted Williams Parkway occurred about 10:15 p.m. Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
10News learned that the motorcyclist, Daniel Shea, of Poway, who police say may have been racing with another rider, slammed into the back of a white SUV. That initial collision caused a chain reaction and four other cars crashed.
Authorities said Shea was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.
