SAN DIEGO - More than 8,000 people participated in the 3rd annual San Diego Half Marathon, which was held downtown on Sunday.
Among the participants was Hiro Iwamoto. He lost his vision when he as a teenager. Now, he uses a guide to help him run.
"For people who lost their meaning of life, I want to encourage them," he said. "When I lost my eyesight, I lost my meaning of life. Now, I'm running and life is great."
All proceeds from the marathon will be given to 11 local charities, including ALS, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of San Diego and Team Red, White & Blue.
