SAN DIEGO - More than 200 Marines with the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) will return home Monday following a yearlong deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

The MCAS Miramar-based Marines will be welcomed on the flight line at a homecoming ceremony at 8 a.m.

The 3rd MAW was the aviation combat element for Regional Command-Southwest, where it provided close air support, air assault and transportation for troops in southern Afghanistan.
