LIVONIA, Mich. - A Michigan family that agreed to give a live TV interview about the hardships of having their Marine son away for the holidays, received quite a Christmas surprise when he walked through the front door.
Pvt. Shane Martin had told his family that he would be unable to make it back home to Livonia in time for Christmas, and sent his mother a bouquet of roses and an apology note to lay the foundation down for his big reveal.
As the WXYZ-TV reporter asks the family what they would say to him if he were watching, Martin walked in for a homecoming moment to remember.
His mother called it the "best Christmas present ever."
