Mid-City bank robber sought

SAN DIEGO - Authorities have released surveillance photos of a man who robbed a Mid-City bank earlier this month.

The robbery occurred May 7, at about 11:05 a.m. at a U.S. Bank branch inside a Vons grocery store at 6155 El Cajon Blvd.

According to San Diego police and the FBI, the suspect approached a teller with a demand note, claiming he had a gun and bomb, although no weapon was seen. No one was hurt.

After receiving the cash, he was last seen walking east toward a parking lot in 62nd Street. Prior to the robbery, exiting the a four-door sedan with California license plates in the area of 60th Street and El Cajon Boulevard.

The man was described as white, pale, 40 to 45 years old, 5-foot-6, skinny with a long red or orange pony tail wing. The driver of the sedan was described as a white man in his late 60s with short gray hair, and a clean-shaven narrow face.
