LA MESA, Calif. - Authorities on Wednesday arrested three people suspected of robbing a man and leading police officers on a pursuit.
The incident was reported just after 9 p.m. in the 9900 block of Jamacha Boulevard in Spring Valley.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, a man was approached by a woman and two men, who were armed with two shotguns and a handgun. The suspects then took the man's cellphone, wallet and watch and drove away in a white Ford Thunderbird with paper plates.
At about 9:30 p.m., deputies found a vehicle matching the description of the suspects' vehicle and tried to pull it over. The driver did not yield and officers began pursuing the vehicle. During the pursuit, the suspects threw a pump-action shotgun and a shirt out a window of the car.
Officers lost the vehicle a short time later but found it abandoned in La Mesa near Fresno and Palm avenues.
After an intense search, one man and the woman were then arrested near the Sprouts grocery store on nearby Spring Street. The remaining suspect was taken into custody just after 11 p.m.
No one was injured.
The sheriff's department, San Diego Police Department and La Mesa Police Department are investigating the incident.
