SAN DIEGO - Vince Hall, San Diego Mayor Bob Filner's chief of staff, has resigned amid the allegations of sexual harassment against the mayor.
On Twitter, Hall posted the following:
As a lifelong activist for women’s rights and equality, I feel I must resign effective today.— Vince Hall (@vincehall) July 12, 2013
Hall's last Tweet was on November 16, 2012, when he announced he was "very honored to have been selected to serve as Chief of Staff to Mayor Bob Filner."
Darren Pudgil, who served as a spokesman for former Mayor Jerry Sanders and now works for the San Diego Tourism Authority, tweeted the following in response to Hall's resignation:
@vincehall You worked for him, and witnessed this, for years -- and now you resign? You have some explaining to do.— Darren Pudgil (@Pudgil) July 13, 2013
