Masked man robs Chase bank branch near Liberty Station

SAN DIEGO - A masked man robbed a Chase Bank branch near Liberty Station Saturday afternoon, a police officer said.

The suspect walked into the bank at 1740 Rosecrans St., near Nimitz Boulevard, shortly before 12:30 p.m. and demanded cash from a teller, San Diego police Officer Frank Cali said. He did not show a weapon or use a demand note, according to the officer.

The robber received an undisclosed amount and also grabbed a customer's wallet that was on the counter before he ran out the back door and headed west on Rosecrans Street, Cali said.

Police described the suspect as white, and wearing a ski mask, a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
