Man with knife steals phone from SDSU student

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State police Friday issued a warning to students, after a knife-wielding thief stole at student's cell phone overnight.

The robbery occurred in the north alley of 5800 Montezuma Road around 11:15 p.m. Thursday, according to university police.

"As a reminder, be cautious of your surroundings and immediately report suspicious activity to police," the department said in a statement.

Police described the thief as a black man in his early to mid-20s, around 6 foot and 180 pounds, with a light mustache.
