Authorities Thursday released the name of a man who molested a child in San Diego County and was killed in prison this week, allegedly by a murderer also serving a life-sentence at California State Prison in Lancaster.

Francisco Aguilar, 36, was found lifeless in his cell in Los Angeles County's antelope Valley around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, said Lt. Renee Grand Pre of the Los Angeles County coroner's office and Lt. Jackie Galapon of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.Aguilar had a cable around his neck when he was found in his cell, according to the Los Angeles Times.An autopsy was pending, Grand Pre said.Aguilar was serving a life sentence for the aggravated sexual assault of a child in San Diego County, Galapon said.Aaron Alvarez, 42, was arrested and put into an "administrative segregation" cell to be kept out of reach of the general population, Galapon said. Alvarez was serving a life sentence for a murder he committed in Kern County, she said.The killing was being investigated by the California State Prison-Los Angeles County's Investigative Services Unit as well as Los Angeles County sheriff's detectives, Galapon said. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office was also notified, she said.It was the second suspected slaying of an inmate at the prison in the last six months.
