ESCONDIDO, Calif. - A courteous man in a broad-brimmed blue visor robbed an Escondido bank Tuesday, according to the FBI.
The bandit gave a demand note to a teller at the US Bank office in the 100 block of North Broadway shortly after 9:30 a.m.
Before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash, the thief thanked the clerk and told a witness to "have a nice day," according to the federal agency.
Witnesses described him as a roughly 6-foot-tall, 190-pound black man who appeared to be in his mid-50s. In addition to the sun hat, he was clad in jeans and a blue shirt.
