Man walks into Escondido Police Department, tells officers he killed his wife

ESCONDIDO, Calif. - 10news was the first at the scene Sunday as an Escondido police patrol car sat at the end of a long driveway along Catspaw place; Yellow crime tape still remained up in front of the home.
This is the home where police were told to go to by the man who lives there, Identified by police as 67-year-old Abdul Ibrahim, after police say Ibrahim went to them early Sunday morning and said he had killed his wife.
Sunday afternoon, the medical examiners white van still sat on the driveway of the home.
Escondido police confirm inside the home, 64 year old Shahbanoo Ibrahim had suffered fatal stab wounds while she slept in her bed. Her husband walked into the Escondido police department just after 3:30 a.m. and said he had killed his wife with a knife.
Neighbors told 10news that Ibrahim seemed friendly and was known to wave as he drove by, but other than that he was not very social in the neighborhood. Family 10news saw leaving the home Sunday afternoon seemed visibly upset.
Detectives remained inside the home more than 15 hours after Ibrahim reported the death. Ibrahim is now in vista jail facing first degree murder charges. He’s set to face a judge Tuesday for his arraignment.
