NATIONAL CITY, Calif. - A man was under arrest Monday after he led police in a high-speed chase Monday from Coronado to National City.

The suspect, who police said was driving a stolen car, led officers over the Coronado Bridge and into southbound Interstate 5.

The chase ended on state Route 54 when the man, who drove to speeds up to 110 miles per hour, lost control and smashed into a concrete rail. A City of Coronado patrol car pursuing the driver also spun out and crashed into a concrete wall.

10News learned that the officer in the patrol car complained of pain and was taken to an area hospital. The driver is facing felony evasion and grand theft auto charges.
