Man struck by pickup truck while crossing the street in Vista

VISTA, Calif. - A 77-year-old man was hospitalized Thursday after he was struck by a pickup truck while crossing a Vista street, a San Diego sheriff's deputy said.
The man was crossing in the 100 block of Olive Avenue when he was struck by a Toyota Tundra at 5:36 p.m. Wednesday, said Deputy Kenneth Werner, adding that the driver stopped and alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the accident.
Werner said the pedestrian was transported to a hospital for evaluation and treatment of possible life-threatening injuries.
