Man stabbed in downtown public restroom

SAN DIEGO - Authorities were searching Tuesday for the person who stabbed a man that stopped his car to use a public restroom in downtown San Diego, police said.

Police reported the attack at 13th and G Streets at around 10 p.m.

The unidentified victim was hospitalized with a single stab wound to his chest and other non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The man's wife was waiting in the vehicle during the stabbing and called police.

A motive for the attack was not known. No suspect information was immediately available.

The San Diego Police Department gang unit was investigating the attack, officers said.
