SAN DIEGO - An investigation was under way Tuesday into a stabbing that left a male wounded in San Diego's East Village neighborhood.
The stabbing in the 1400 block of Imperial Avenue was reported at 8:48 p.m. Monday, said San Diego police Officer David Stafford.
A man entered the victim's apartment and the two began to argue, Stafford said.
"During the argument, the suspect took out a knife and stabbed the victim in the arm and chest," he said.
The suspect was arrested by officers as they arrived and was later booked into the San Diego County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a controlled substance, he said.
The victim was taken to a hospital with wounds that Stafford called "non-life threatening."
