Man sought in downtown Wells Fargo bank robbery

SAN DIEGO - A bald-headed man who claimed to have a concealed gun robbed a Core-Columbia bank on Monday.

The thief, who appeared to be 30 to 40 years old, confronted a teller at the Wells Fargo branch office in the 400 block of B Street and demanded cash at about noon, according to the FBI. He told the clerk he was carrying a pistol, though none was seen, and threatened to do harm to her if she failed to comply.

After the employee handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, the robber put it into a Target shopping bag and walked out of the bank.

Witnesses described him as a roughly 5-foot-7-inch, 160-pound white man wearing tan pants, a black T-shirt and glasses. He was bald except for a strip of graying black hair on the sides and back of his head.
