Man sought for questioning in connection with homicide near Vista

VISTA, Calif. - A man was killed on the Fourth of July near Vista, and sheriff's deputies Saturday were on the lookout for a man who is possibly armed and dangerous.

Alexander Michael Wyman, 37, was wanted for questioning in connection with the death of a man at about 3:40 p.m. Friday at 3625 Gopher Canyon Road, east of Vista, Sheriff's Lt. Glenn Giannantonio said.

Deputies believe that Wyman lives at the residence and was an acquaintance of the victim who was pronounced dead at the scene, Giannantonio said.

Deputies first responded to a call to assist the fire department who had found the victim on the ground with traumatic injuries, Giannantonio said.

The sheriff's department did not reveal the identity of the victim or his cause of death.

Wyman has been identified as a person of interest who is wanted for questioning. He is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing a white Padres t-shirt and dark shorts.

Sheriff's officials said the public should not try to contact Wyman as he is possibly armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Sheriff's Homicide Detail at (858) 974-2321 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
