A 23-year-old man was shot and killed early Saturday morning in Linda Vista, San Diego Police said.
Just after 4 a.m., police said they received a call from a citizen who heard gunshots and saw a person down on the ground in the 2200 block of Comstock Street.
Patrol officers and medics responded to the scene and found a conscious and breathing man with a gunshot wound to his upper body.
Medics said the injury was serious but did not appear to be life-threatening. The man was taken to the hospital and died around 8 a.m.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene to investigate.
The victim was identified as Jordy Ramon Lopez of Linda Vista.
