SAN DIEGO - San Diego police say they are investigating an apartment shooting in Sherman Heights Sunday morning that left one man suffering non-life-threatening injuries.
The San Diego Police Department said the shooting occurred at 25th and J streets at around 6:47 a.m.
According to officers, a woman said she was attacked by her boyfriend, 21-year-old Christian Jose Dominguez, Saturday and told her family members. One of her cousins then went to her house to protect her as she was scared the boyfriend would return.
Police said Dominguez entered the apartment Sunday morning, saw the 18-year-old cousin waiting and shot him several times in the chest.
Officers said Dominguez was last seen wearing a black cap and a black hooded sweatshirt, and fled the scene in a 2-door Mitsubishi Eclipse.
Anyone with information was urged to call San Diego police at 619-531-2204.
