The ringleader of a prostitution ring that brought in thousands of dollars between 2001 and 2003 was sentenced to four years and eight months in state prison.
Allmighty Supreme Mayo, 26, was convicted Oct. 12 of one count of pimping and eight counts of money laundering. He was also sentenced Thursday on a probation revocation case from a previous felony conviction.Prosecutor Robert Kearney had argued for the maximum 11-year sentence, but Judge Michael Wellington determined that the middle term was more appropriate.Kearney told a jury that Mayo ran an outcall escort service from March 2001 until his arrest in December 2003. One of his prostitutes testified that she earned $50,000 for the defendant during a six-month period. The prostitute said some of her calls were for nude dancing only, but as many as 70 percent of them resulted in a sex act.According to bank records, Mayo deposited about $300,000 into an account in one year, all with no legitimate source of income.Mayo's lavish spending included jewelry, a Mercedes-Benz and taking his prostitutes on trips to New York City and Las Vegas.
