RANCHO SAN DIEGO - A dispute between two people near Cuyamaca College ended early today when one of them intentionally ran the other down with a car, gravely injuring him, authorities said.
The quarrel began at a McDonald's on Avocado Boulevard in Rancho San Diego about 2:30 a.m., according to sheriff's officials.
When one of the arguers left, the other followed him to a nearby home in the 3600 block of Avocado Village Court. After the victim got out of his car, the other driver rammed him and pinned him up against a wall, leaving him with broken bones and serious head trauma, Lt. Clayton Lisk said.
The assailant drove off, abandoned the vehicle nearby and fled on foot.
Medics took the victim to a hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition. He was not expected to survive, the lieutenant said.
Homicide detectives were called in to investigate.
