According to authorities, the man parked his gold Jaguar on the side of the road, climbed over the railing, waved to traffic and then jumped.

The man landed in the westbound lanes of Interstate 8.

A SigAlert was issued at 10:30 a.m. At about 11:45 a.m., authorities reopened all lanes of I-8.

A witness told 10News that emergency crews performed CPR on the man at the scene.

This is the second person to commit suicide from I-805 this week. On Friday, a woman jumped to her death from I-805 and Balboa Avenue.

The woman, later identified as Karla Gallo, was struck by a 2010 Toyota Prius registered to a Los Angeles resident. The driver of the Prius was not injured, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Art Athans.

Athans said it was unclear if Gallo died as a result of the fall or from being struck by the car. The Medical Examiner's Office has yet to release her cause of death.
