A probationer was behind bars Friday on suspicion of growing more than $200,000 worth of marijuana plants near his Bonsall home, sheriff's officials said.

Terms of John Paul's probation allowed deputies to search the residence in the 6900 block of West Lilac Road near Via Vera without a warrant, according to sheriff's Sgt. Patrick Yates. The search was conducted about 11:15 a.m. Thursday.Adjacent to the house, deputies found marijuana plants with an estimated street value of more than $200,000, Yates said.Paul, 43, was arrested and booked into the Vista Detention Facility on suspicion of cultivation of marijuana and being under the influence of narcotics.Copyright Do you have more information about this story?
