CARLSBAD, Calif. - One man was arrested Wednesday after leading police in a high-speed chase through Carlsbad and Encinitas.
The incident began before 2 a.m. Police said they received a call about a man who may have been intoxicated and armed.
When police responded, the suspect sped off on Coast Highway, hitting speeds up to 100 mph.
The suspect's vehicle eventually broke down after he drove it into railroad tracks near Encinitas Boulevard. He was later arrested. No one was hurt during the chase.
A source told police that officers found a fully-loaded shotgun in the suspect's vehicle.
