Man In Custody After East County Pursuit

A suspected drunken driver was taken into custody Thursday morning after leading law enforcement on a short pursuit in the East County, authorities said.The non-injury pursuit began at 4:35 a.m. on westbound state Route 54, just east of Briarwood Road, and ended on southbound state Route 125, just north of Jamacha Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.The suspect faces drunken driving and fail-to-yield to police charges, CHP Officer Ray Scheidnes said.
